Massive Accident In Ft. Worth

February 12, 2021

Yesterday in Ft. Worth there was a massive accident on I-35 just north of downtown. I was in my pickup in Burleson when that was being reported. It turns out around 130 vehicles were involved. A very sad day here in Ft. Worth. Here’s a link to a video. It’s stunning the way the cars and big trucks had no way of slowing down before plowing into the others. – TEXAS PILEUP CRASH

Yes ma’am. I-35 is the main north/south interstate through Ft. Worth. Apparently, the city didn’t treat one of the overpasses (which are massive) with salt or sand. I think a couple of cars lost control on the overpass and crashed, then the chain reaction happened. At that location in the city, you’re coming over a hill onto the overpass. When the vehicles topped the hill they would see the crashed vehicles ahead but had no way to stop or even slow down. Very sad indeed. It happened a bit after 6 a.m. when rush hour was beginning. Texans have a serious problem with slowing down in the rain or ice. It’s ridiculous and endangers a lot of people.

That’s so awful and sad to hear! I figured that approaching cars and trucks couldn’t see what was ahead. They were driving so fast! On slippery roads? What a dangerous hill and overpass area. Bad planning!
