There’s much more to the Florida school shooting than being reported
February 25, 2018
Finally someone exposes just what a lot of us have been suspecting. The sheriff’s department had a deal years before the shooting NOT to arrest students who commit even serious crimes. As that makes the education system in Broward County look bad and it prevents them from getting money. Click RIGHT HERE FOR THE STORY.
And HERE is how media outlets such as CNN push only one thing … gun-control.
I’m not sure of the point you or anyone else who buys into this program as having any responsibility with the kid who did the shooting, First off, this source and these conservative bias sources for your “factual” information you always go to are less than reliable and hugely opinionated. It’s a conservative bent that “don’t trust government = conspiracy theories”. But that’s your choice.. still a free country.
First. on the surface.. the copy of the collaborative agreement being displayed is marked “draft”. There are drafts written up all the time and are essentially worthless unless they are final, signed-off documents and made into policy. Second, that collaborative program sounds fairly progressive and I would be very interested on the results.. the results being not some statistical decline in crime itself.. but the success rate of those students in “fixing” themselves from the various intervention steps. Thirdly, there were obvious intervention steps beyond the initial discretion of the cop making the determination in that draft document; it was not just a catch-and-release to somehow make the cops or the school district look good.
Fourth, I am watching Jake Tapper on CNN as I write this and he is vigorously questioning the Broward County sheriff on alleged police shortcomings and he just brought up this agreement as “possibly” having some impact on not detecting this kid’s intentions as being serious. Of course the sheriff’s reply is that the police did their part at the time… and without some huge investigation into the effectiveness of that program in general, we have no idea what the interventions of all the agencies, beyond the cops, might have done or not done.
All this is called critical thinking, Steve. It’s not just blanketly accepting some right wing drivel as gospel. I surely do not believe everything CNN or the “real” news networks report all the time.

To make a proper correction.. in a re-run of the Jake Tapper/Sheriff Scott Israel interview, the policy Tapper is asking of the sheriff is regarding an entry assault policy and NOT directly referencing the alleged policy you were referencing. So as I am aware, the policy you are suggesting here, Steve, I’ve not seen reported in the main stream media. Does’t mean it’s not there somewhere; I don’t see all the media.

Oh dammit, Steve… I was right the first time. Jeezz… sorry for the misstep. Tapper did indeed end up asking the sheriff specifically about that policy you reference. I’m taking up all your reply space by going back and forth on what I recall. Ugh. sorry.
